DO I HAVE TO PAY THE TREATMENT IN ADVANCE?

No, each step of aligners is delivered with the relative invoice, the payment is after 30 days by Bank Transfer or Credit Card.

DO I HAVE TO SEND THE PATIENT'S IMPRESSIONS FOR A QUOTE?

No, Smiletech has simplified the cost prediction by creating spending ranges.

TO REQUEST A TREATMENT DO I HAVE TO SEND PHOTOS AND RADIOGRAPHIES IN ADDITION OF THE IMPRESSIONS?

A valid planning for an orthodontic treatment requires an adequate set of diagnostic data. The Smiletech platform allows you to independently upload photographs and radiographies, creating an archive of your patient that can be consulted in any moment on any device.

DO I NEED TO TAKE PRECISION IMPRINTS TO REQUEST A PREDICTION OF THE SMILECHECK TREATMENT?

Yes: PVS putty and light in double phase impressions, polyether single phase or STL files from an intra oral scan.

The impressions must be complete also in the area of the last molars if they are present in the arch.

I NEED A QUOTE FOR A SINGLE ARCH DO I HAVE TO TAKE BOTH IMPRESSIONS?

Yes, always, in any case.

AFTER HOW MANY DAYS DO I HAVE TO REPLACE ALIGNERS IN MY PATIENT?

The current trend is to complete the treatment in the shortest possible time since the patient compliance in wearing the aligners for 22 hours a day, inevitably tends to decrease with the time. It has been tested that the material of which the aligner is made, during its permanence in the oral cavity tends to lose its release of force after some days, due to the action of heat and saliva. We therefore recommend the following protocol: 15 days from the first to the third aligner, 10 days from the fourth onwards, for cases that require a large number of aligners, the time can be reduced to 7 days. However, it is strictly necessary to monitor the patient’s compliance to modulate the protocol.

HOW DO I KNOW IF MY PATIENT IS COLLABORATING?

Check the aligner at each replacement: if the difference between it and the teeth is minimal and reduces to zero after two weeks, this is an indication of a good patient cooperation. The lack of fitting between aligners and teeth is an indication of poor collaboration, generally noticeable from the fourth aligner onwards.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I DON'T FOLLOW THE STRIPPING INSTRUCTIONS?

The aligners will start to not fit perfectly on the teeth.

THE ALIGNER DOES NOT ADHERE TO THE TEETH, I NOTICED THAT THE PROBLEM IS INCREASING WITH EVERY ALIGNER REPLACEMENT.

Make sure that the patient is wearing the aligners for at least 22 hours a day, after 3 days if the problem persists, contact SMILETECH. Check that the stripping have been executed and measured correctly as instructed.

THE ALIGNER DOES NOT FIT PERFECTLY ON A TOOTH THAT HAS TO BE EXTRUDED.

Ask the patient to bite a chewie for one minute, three times a day, for three days.

I HAVE RECEIVED THE SMILETCH BOX BUT NOT ALL THE ALIGNERS ARE PRESENT INSIDE

The Smiletech system, unlike other brands, applies a Total Control procedure making a maximum of 20 aligners with one impression, in order to pursue short-medium term objectives and thus guarantee a perfect fit between the aligner and tooth, a fundamental prerequisite for the correct action of the aligners.

AN ALIGNER BROKE, WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Try to use the next aligner, if it does not fit properly make the patient wear the previous one and contact SMILETECH to ask for a copy of the broken one.

AN ATTACHMENT DETACHED DURING THE TREATMENT, I TRIED TO RECREATE IT BUT THE TEMPLATE NO LONGER FIT TO THE TEETH.

Reduce the size of the template with a scalpel by removing the portion that extends over the teeth adjacent to the interested tooth.

THE PATIENT CANNOT REMOVE THE ALIGNER THAT I JUST APPLIED TO THE TEETH?

To remove, lift the aligner by applying force in the area of the second molars, lingual side. If necessary, ask the patient to use the hook for aligner removal present in the patient kit.

THE PATIENT CONTINUES TO STRUGGLE TO REMOVE THE ALIGNER FROM THE TEETH EVEN AFTER HAVING FAMILIARIZED WITH IT

Progressively reduce the spherical attachments on the premolars, the anchoring ones.

I HAVE FINISHED THE ALIGNERS BUT THE ALIGNMENT IS NOT COMPLETED YET.

Once the planned aligners have depleted, the definitive orthodontic alignment is often not achieved. In this case, Smiletech supplies additional finishing aligner packages. If the difference with the projected result is minimal, affecting a maximum of two teeth, contact SMILETECH to ask for the refinement without taking new impressions. If the difference extends over several teeth, take new impressions. The first finishing phase is free of charge if the following requirements are met: • The new impressions are sent after a reasonable period of time from last aligner. • The patient cooperated by wearing the aligners for at least 22 hours a day. • The stripping was executed and measured as instructed in the project. • The attachments were applied correctly for all the duration of the treatment. • The aligner replacement time for all the duration of the treatment corresponds to 14 days and not more.

CAN I USE THE LAST ALIGNER AS A RETAINING DEVICE?

No. The retention mask has to be made of a more rigid and thicker material.

FOR SEVERE CRODWING CASES ON LOWER ARCH, DO YOU SUGGEST THE USE OF A FIXED RETAINER?

Yes we do.

THE PATIENT HAS LOST THE SMILETECH RETENTION DO I HAVE TO TAKE THE IMPRESSION AGAIN?

If you assess that the degree of recurrence is mild, contact Smiletech to ask for a copy, all of our retainers are saved in a digital archive for at least 24 months.
